Sizing
Size guide
Deck widths, truck sizes, and wheel hardness explained clearly.
Deck width guide
Deck width is the main thing. It's measured in inches across the widest point.
- 7.5"–7.75" — good for younger riders, smaller feet, technical street skating
- 7.875"–8.25" — the most common range, works for most adults doing street or park
- 8.25"–8.5"+ — better for transition, bowls, cruising, or just if you prefer a bigger platform
Your shoe size is a rough guide, not a rule. Most adults end up somewhere between 8.0" and 8.5".
Truck size matching
Trucks need to match your deck width. Independent, Thunder, Venture — they all have sizing that corresponds to deck width. We match them on the product pages, but the rule of thumb is the truck axle should be close to the same width as your deck, give or take a couple of millimetres.
Wheel selection
Wheels are sized by diameter (mm) and hardness (durometer).
- 50–54mm — small, technical, street
- 54–58mm — mid-range, park and street
- 58mm+ — cruising, rougher surfaces, faster
Hardness: 99–101a is hard, good for smooth surfaces and tricks. 78a–87a is soft, good for cruising and rough ground. Most street/park wheels sit around 99–101a.
